Tennis Courts

Posted by Steve Gledhill, On 30th Apr 2014, In Tennis

Hello everyone,
In case you haven't heard the two hard courts have been resurfaced and
have new posts and nets and are looking very smart. They are also very
nice to play on which was evident over the Easter break when they were
fully booked! Hopefully the good bookings will show that the tennis
section is worthy of future investment so keep playing!
The grass courts are not yet in use as, as usual we are waiting for the
posts to go in and this is dependent on the dryness of the soil. We hope
to overcome this problem in future years by having permanent post holes
put in and this will start with the first 4 courts closest to the
pavillion, enabling grass court play to start a few weeks earlier.
However this work cannot start until...yes,until the ground is dry enough!
League competition has started so wish everyone in the teams  luck. The
full summer programme is also in the diary so please come and join in if
you are able. We plan to sell cream teas again at the main tournament
days so if anyone is able to help out in any way please let us know.
We look forward to another good summer of tennis so get the raquets out
and dust off the shoes and we will see you on the courts!
