On Friday the Thurlestone Quaich organised by Janet Richardson went ahead. There were ten pairs of adult and juniors competing in 9 holes of golf in the morning and tennis in the afternoon. However due to horrible weather conditions they played greensome stableford golf over 9 holes, and the tennis was abandoned and the result went just on the golf. The Thurlestone father and son team of Jonathan and Sammy Ingham won the competition with 21 points an excellent score considering the conditions. Second was Jonathan and James Simpson Dent from Cornwall with 19 points, and tied third with 17 points were James and Charlie Witter and Gordon and Will Dawson all from Hampshire.
