Thurlestone v Saunton
A team of six mixed pairs from Thurlestone Golf Club were hosted by Saunton Club on Saturday 19th August for their annual fixture. On a sunny, but quite breezy, afternoon the Greensomes match was played on the Saunton West Course which was in fantastic condition. Whilst all the games were played in an excellent and friendly spirit on this occasion local knowledge prevailed and Saunton ran out the winners by 5 games to 1. Special mention should be made of Thurlestone’s Men’s Captain, Paul Millburn-Fryer and his partner Bridget Lafferty, who won their game with some spectacular golf. Following the match Thurlestone were treated to an excellent Roast dinner in the Saunton clubhouse, where all agreed how enjoyable this annual fixture remained.
