Ladies Turkey Trot
Ladies Turkey Trot – Forty-four ladies played a 14-hole Turkey Trot competition, so called as the competition prizes are vouchers to spend at a local butcher. The winners were Trish Gledhill and Kaz Phillips with 36 points. Five pairs came in with 31 points, so positions were determined on countback. In second and 3rd place were Jan Brooking and Linda Cant, followed by Jane Mahood and Sue Curry. The joint winners of the Best Dressed Head competition were Judith Lungmuss for the wackiest hat and Pam Adams for the stack of presents titfer. A raffle was held during lunch to find homes for four phenomenal hampers, stuffed to the brim with Christmas food and drink, the contents of which were donated by members of the ladies’ section. Other prizes included a homemade Christmas cake and pudding as well as 3 vouchers for visits to other golf clubs. Thanks to everybody’s generosity, a further £295 was raised for HomeStart.
