We were blessed with dry day and a testing wind. As always, I would like to thank all those who made sure the event ran smoothly. To Bett for her meticulous preparation, to Steve and the Pro Shop team and all the house staff who catered admirably throughout the day. A special mention to the “starters” Harry Cattell and Bill Campbell for their assistance in making sure everyone was on time. Regular participants Mark Passmore and Michael Crutchley from Torquay won first prize with 44 pts from late entrants Nick Pomeroy and Kevin Mattock from Burnham & Berrow who carded the same score. Third, also with 44 pts, was Dan Kayes & Martin Kent from Boringdon. Fourth, fifth and sixth all score 42 pts, Mark Cottingham & Ian Jasinsky from Tavistock, Neil Wood & Martin Garnsey from Downes Crediton and Chris Howard & Jon Cousins from Tavistock. My thanks also to Russell and his team for their efforts in presenting the course in superb fashion, the chatter in the bar, from everyone, provided high praise to the course, especially the greens surfaces.
