On a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon, Thurlestone were proud to launch Golf Access, which is an exciting new format designed to help golf clubs encourage new golfers into the game on the course. Lee Bellamy and Sam Tabiner organised the event and had twenty juniors involved and lots of parents to help. Everyone had a great time in the lovely weather and it showed in their golf.
Every junior who participated got an award of a coloured band, showing their progress through the system.Opening today was Giles Hanmer-Grant, Isaac Lowden and Vinny Lowden, both Giles and Isaac achieved Amber grade with Vinny achieving an Amber + (plus grade). All 20 juniors were awarded a coloured band and some are on the Access + grade which means they tee off from the yellow or red tees. The website is www.golfaccess.co.uk which gives all the details of this new format.

Great win on Sunday for Thurlestone in the Devon County Basil Steer knockout winning 3-0 against Dainton Park. It was a tightly fought match in a relentless cold strong wind but despite the conditions all players did well competing up to the 17th and 18th holes. Sammy Ingham, Juniors Captain had to give 2 shots and managed to win 2/1 securing our first point with Noah Mulligan and Toby White winning 1 up on the 18th in their matches. Lots of fighting back and the boys should be proud of themselves, well done.
